Raymond Bomba: young malian star signs contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2030

Bayer Leverkusen has officially signed Raymond N’Djicoura Bomba, the Malian international U17 striker, to a contract running through 2030. This 17-year-old rising star impressed the German club with his outstanding performances at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations, where he scored three goals and provided two assists.

Bomba, formerly playing at Centre Sportif de Bamako, will join Bayer Leverkusen upon turning 18 in March 2026. Until then, he will continue training in Mali and regularly visit Germany for training camps. The club reportedly paid around €1.5 million for the transfer, choosing Bomba’s development project over interest from other European giants such as Manchester City, Monaco, and Hoffenheim.

This signing reflects Bayer Leverkusen’s ongoing strategy to nurture and integrate promising African talents into top European football. Bomba is widely regarded as a future offensive cornerstone for the club. His career is also a notable milestone for Malian football, which continues to rise on the international stage.

For Bayer Leverkusen, this is a long-term investment aimed at developing Bomba into a key player in the Bundesliga, expecting him to make a significant impact starting in the 2026/27 season and beyond.
