Uganda transfer news: Goalkeeper Charles Lukwago set for KCCA FC return

Reports from Uganda suggest that Ugandan international goalkeeper Charles Lukwago is on the verge of signing a two-year contract with Kampala Capital City Authority FC (KCCA FC). This move would see the highly-rated shot-stopper return to one of the most successful clubs in Ugandan football.

At 31, Lukwago brings with him valuable experience from his stint with Saint George SC in Ethiopia, where he proved himself as a reliable and commanding presence between the posts. His performances at club level and with the national team, the Uganda Cranes, have cemented his reputation as one of East Africa’s top goalkeepers.

A return to KCCA FC would be particularly symbolic, as Lukwago previously played for the Kampala giants before heading abroad. The club, with several Uganda Premier League titles to its name, aims to strengthen its roster with experienced players to compete both domestically and on the continental stage.

For Lukwago, rejoining KCCA offers stability and the chance to take on a leadership role within a rebuilding project. This move could also serve as a platform to maintain his international career and prepare for the next major challenges with the Uganda Cranes.
