Paris FC: Ilan Kebbal starts at Auxerre but misses out on Algeria squad!

Attacking midfielder Ilan Kebbal started on the right wing in Paris FC’s 1-0 win at Auxerre, which lifts the club provisionally to 2nd place. Yet head coach Brahim Hemdani has not included him in Algeria’s squad for their double header with Togo.

Ilan Kebbal keeps going with Paris FC, but not with Algeria. The attacking midfielder started on the right wing in the Parisian club’s 1-0 win at Auxerre on matchday 10 of Ligue 1, according to WhoScored. A 63rd-minute goal from striker Lassine Sinayoko, his 9th of the season in Ligue 1, made the difference.

The win lifts the club provisionally to 2nd place in the league, according to Dongqiudi. But on Thursday 5 November, head coach Brahim Hemdani named a 26-man squad for the double header against Togo on 14 and 17 November, without Kebbal, as reported by Radio Algérienne and Le Quotidien d’Oran.

A squad without Kebbal, Aït-Nouri or Zorgane

Ilan Kebbal’s absence is not the only notable feature of the squad. Brahim Hemdani also left out Rayan Aït-Nouri (Manchester City) and Adam Zorgane (Saint-Gilloise), according to Radio Algérienne and Le Quotidien d’Oran. The report gives no reasons for these absences.

The big news of this camp lies elsewhere: the first call-ups for defender Mohamed Azzi (CSKA Moscow) and midfielder Abderrahmane Rebbach (Deportivo Alavés), according to Le Quotidien d’Oran.

On the Paris side, Kebbal started while Sinayoko, scorer of his 9th goal of the season in Ligue 1 according to Dongqiudi, found the net at Auxerre.

Algeria lead, Togo lie in wait

Algeria top Group I with 4 points, after a 3-1 win over Zambia and a 2-2 draw in Burundi, according to Radio Algérienne and Le Quotidien d’Oran. Togo, coached by Frenchman Patrice Neveu, have 3 points, after a 1-0 win over Burundi and a 2-0 defeat in Zambia, according to Radio Algérienne.

The Algeria head coach himself stressed how difficult the task is, in comments reported by Le Quotidien d’Oran: “We saw in the first camp that every team was difficult to play. We took four points out of six and our ambition is to take the maximum number of points at the end of this second round of matches.”

The double header will see Algeria host Togo on 14 November 2026, then Togo host Algeria on 17 November 2026. Paris FC, for their part, will resume their league campaign after the international break.
