Senegal’s new head coach, Patrick Vieira, has published a 25-man squad for the 3rd and 4th matchdays of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers against Sudan, according to PP Sport.
The call-ups include Kalidou Koulibaly (Al-Hilal), Moussa Niakhaté (Lyon), Malang Sarr (Neom), Lamine Camara (Monaco), Pape Matar Sarr (Juventus) and Iliman Ndiaye (Manchester City), according to CS6 Zhong and PP Sport. Sadio Mané and Idrissa Gueye, however, are absent from the list.
Ndiaye: mixed stats
Iliman Ndiaye joined Manchester City last summer for around €75m from Everton, L’Équipe recalls via Hupu. This season, the Senegalese winger has provided 5 assists in all competitions, more than in his two seasons at Everton. However, he has yet to find the net: he has attempted 22 shots since his arrival without scoring, according to the same source.
Asked about his move to Manchester City, Ndiaye told L’Équipe via Hupu: “(Being in the Champions League) was a dream. Now the dream has become reality, I have to do my best to help the team win.” His former teammate Samuel Gigot praised his progress: “When we played together, I didn’t think he would reach this level. Iliman deserves everything that is happening to him because he never gives up.”
Defence and midfield: the other call-ups
Kalidou Koulibaly, an Al-Hilal defender, is also on the list, alongside Malang Sarr (Neom) and Moussa Niakhaté (Lyon), according to CS6 Zhong.
Lamine Camara (Monaco) and Pape Matar Sarr (Juventus) complete the group, according to CS6 Zhong and PP Sport.
New faces in the squad
Patrick Vieira has brought several new faces into his squad: Lopy, Crépin Diata, young forward Clayton Diandy (Diriye) and winger Pathe Mboup (Brest), according to PP Sport and Koha.
Senegal will host Sudan on 12 November 2026, before travelling to Sudan on 16 November for the second match of this double-header.
