Leeds United ended Tottenham’s Premier League winning run with a 1-0 victory on Saturday 7 November. Ghanaian winger Mohammed Kudus, rated 5 by the BBC, produced a game full of effort but little end product.
Tottenham Hotspur were chasing a fourth consecutive Premier League win on the pitch at Leeds United on Saturday 7 November at 20:30 (Paris time). After their 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace, coach Roberto De Zerbi’s side intended to keep their momentum going. But Spurs went down 1-0, according to BBC Sport.
Mohammed Kudus, the Ghana international winger, was gradually rediscovering his best form after a first 2025-2026 season disrupted by injuries. Against the third-best defence in the Premier League in goals conceded before the match, he was unable to make the difference.
A disputed man of the match
Against Crystal Palace (2-0), Kudus had provided an assist from a corner for Archie Gray and had been named man of the match. That award was not unanimous: some supporters felt other players deserved the distinction, Foot-Afrique reports.
The Ghanaian winger had also contributed to Tottenham’s historic success at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea, through his attacking and defensive work. Those performances raised hopes of another strong display from him at Leeds.
The BBC gave Kudus a rating of 5 for the match, with the comment “Lots of endeavour but little end product”.
Leeds, a defensive fortress
Before the match, Leeds United had the third-best defence in the Premier League in goals conceded, according to Foot-Afrique. Against such a solid team, Kudus had to contend with a defensive block that was hard to break down, in a match where spaces were expected to be rare, according to Africa Top Sports.
The match confirmed those predictions: Tottenham could not find a way through and lost 1-0 to Leeds. Spurs’ run of three consecutive league wins therefore comes to an end, and Kudus was unable to influence the score.
The match came as the Ghanaian winger was gradually returning to his best, after a 2025-2026 season marked by injuries, Foot-Afrique recalls. He must now rediscover the form he showed against Crystal Palace and Chelsea.
Resuming after the international break
Tottenham now take a break for the international window before returning to Premier League action.
Tottenham’s next league match will take place after that break.
