Paris FC: Lassine Sinayoko, Ligue 1’s top scorer, nominated for the UNFP trophy!

With 8 goals at the top of the Ligue 1 scoring charts, Lassine Sinayoko has been nominated for the UNFP October trophy, while Paris FC turn down an offer from the Premier League.

Nominated for the UNFP Ligue 1 Player of the Month trophy for October, alongside Florian Thauvin and Elye Wahi, the Paris FC striker is backing up a start to the season that has already put him top of the scoring charts, with 8 goals, according to Ligue1.com.

The Paris-region club, fourth in Ligue 1, fully intends to keep their Malian striker. According to Maxifoot and L’Équipe, Paris FC refuse to entertain any talk of a departure, even in the face of an offer of more than €20 million from a Premier League club whose identity has not been disclosed.

A highly successful October

The nomination covers a fruitful October: 4 goals and 4 assists in the league, reports Maxifoot. Across the whole Ligue 1 season, the striker has 8 goals and 4 assists, according to the same source and Ligue1.com.

The figures vary depending on the scope used. OneFootball counts 13 direct contributions in 9 matches across all competitions, i.e. 8 goals and 5 assists; the assist total therefore differs from the league figure of 4.

Data from Datascout, cited by OneFootball, puts his performance index at 87/100 in the false number nine role, second in Ligue 1 in that position. He ranks in the 93rd percentile for expected assists and the 86th for goals scored.

Monaco, then a return to Auxerre

Against Monaco (3-1), he opened the scoring after a pressing move, doubled his tally and provided an assist for Pablo Pagis, according to Le Figaro. His Paris FC coach, Liam Rosenior, praised his performances in the same newspaper: “Since the start of the season, he has been consistently exceptional”.

Signed this summer for €8 million from AJ Auxerre, Sinayoko is under contract with Paris FC until June 2029, Maxifoot specifies.

The English offer, reported by Maxifoot and L’Équipe, should be treated with caution: the buying club is not named.

Voting open and a return to Auxerre

The public can separate the three nominees: voting for the UNFP trophy is open until midnight on Wednesday 11 November, Nicematin indicates.

Paris FC, fourth in Ligue 1, travel to Auxerre on Saturday 7 November at 19:00, the club where the striker played 175 professional matches, ICI Auxerre recalls. Sinayoko will thus return to a ground he knows well.
