Bayer Leverkusen: PSG eye Ibrahim Maza, but the club wants to extend him!

PSG have reportedly shown concrete interest in Ibrahim Maza, the 20-year-old Algerian attacking midfielder at Bayer Leverkusen, and the club wants to extend his contract until 2030, according to Sky Sport Germany.

Ibrahim Maza, 20, is at the heart of a transfer saga. According to Sky Sport Germany, relayed by Foot en France on 4 November, Paris Saint-Germain have shown concrete interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Algerian attacking midfielder. The player’s entourage has reportedly been informed of that interest, as Sport.fr reports, but no offer is confirmed at this stage.

The story remains at the rumour stage. Leverkusen want to extend Maza’s contract, which already runs until 2030 according to Sport.fr, with the winter transfer window approaching.

A Parisian dream openly admitted

Asked by Sky Deutschland, Maza made no secret of his attraction to the French capital. Paris Saint-Germain, he said, represent “a massive dream”. According to Sport.fr, the young Algerian put Paris on the same level as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Arsenal, without giving any timetable for his ambitions.

The matter has even spilt over into jokes. Deniz Undav, the Bayer Leverkusen and Germany striker, joked that Maza should go to Paris. Reports also suggest that PSG forward Ousmane Dembélé is pushing for his arrival. The player himself has made no direct statement to that effect: the information should be treated with caution.

Contradictory reports

The Paris saga is anything but straightforward. RMC Sport reported on 28 October that PSG were not planning an offer in January. A week later, Sky Sport Germany’s information points to concrete interest from the Paris club in the 20-year-old midfielder. No offer is confirmed at this stage.

Still, Maza has publicly placed Paris among his dreams, without any timetable being mentioned for a possible move.

Leverkusen want to extend

According to Sport.fr, Bayer want to extend Maza until 2030. The club are thus looking to secure a new deal, while the Paris file remains open.

For PSG, a decision on a possible offer is expected in January 2027, during the winter transfer window.
