Cameroon: Nagida suspended for Namibia clash, Pagou must rebuild his left flank!

Stade Rennais left-back Aboubakar Nagida, a Cameroon international, will miss the Cameroon-Namibia match on 12 November after two yellow cards. Head coach David Pagou must rebuild his left side without knowing the name of the replacement.

Cameroon will have to do without Aboubakar Nagida for their match against Namibia on 12 November, in matchday 3 of Group G of the CAN 2027 qualifiers. The Stade Rennais left-back is suspended for this game, reports Footafrica. The sanction stems from the accumulation of two yellow cards, collected on the first two matchdays, against the Comoros and then Congo, according to Actu Cameroun.

This absence comes as Cameroon lead Group G with 4 points after two matchdays, according to the CAF. Head coach David Pagou must therefore rethink his left flank for this match, indicates Africa Soccer. The Cameroonian staff have not yet revealed the identity of the replacement, specifies Footafrica.

Two cautions, one suspension

Two yellow cards received on the first two matchdays are enough to deny Nagida the matchday 3 of Group G. The international left-back will therefore not be able to play this first leg against Namibia, before the return planned for 17 November.

Pagou’s staff must now decide which player will occupy the left flank. This decision has not yet been communicated, indicates Footafrica, and no name has been put forward at this stage by the Cameroonian staff.

At club level, a notable European match

At club level, Nagida is under contract with Stade Rennais until 2029, according to Tutto Mercato Web. He stood out during Rennes’ draw against Juventus in the Europa League: involved in Rennes’ first goal, he then won a penalty.

Franck Haise, the Rennes coach, praised his performance: “Yes, he had a very good match.” These comments are reported by Footafrica.

A return match on 17 November

The Cameroonian staff must also prepare the return match against Namibia, scheduled for 17 November, five days after the first leg. Cameroon therefore approach this double header with a position to fill on their left flank.

The Cameroonian staff must still announce the name of Nagida’s replacement on the left flank.
