Stade Rennais: Boulaye Dia scores for the third game running before Olympiakos

With three goals in as many games in all competitions, Senegal striker Boulaye Dia is expected to start up front for Stade Rennais against Olympiakos on Wednesday in Matchday 4 of the Europa League.

Stade Rennais go into Matchday 4 of the Europa League with a striker in form. Boulaye Dia scored from the penalty spot in the 58th minute of Rennes’ 5-2 defeat at Nice on Friday 30 October in Matchday 9 of Ligue 1. According to Lazionews.eu, it was his third goal in a row in all competitions. The Senegal international had previously found the net against Juventus in the Europa League and then against Strasbourg.

Wednesday’s meeting with Olympiakos, on 4 November at 16:30 at Roazhon Park, will be overseen by Rennes head coach Franck Haise. According to Ouest-France, Le Télégramme and OneFootball, Dia is expected to start at the tip of the Breton attack.

Five goals in ten appearances

In a Rennes shirt, the Senegalese has taken his tally to 5 goals in 10 appearances in all competitions, OneFootball reports, based on Lazionews’ figures. In the league he has 4 goals, level with Josh Maja, Louis Mafouta and Florian Thauvin. That total puts him 14th in the Ligue 1 2026/27 scoring charts compiled by Ligue1.com.

Dia left Lazio after three competitive games at the start of the season before joining Rennes last summer, the same source reports.

His current run spans two competitions: the Europa League, with the goal against Juventus, and Ligue 1, with the strike against Strasbourg and then the Nice penalty.

An Olympiakos side with a perfect record

Because Wednesday’s opponents have yet to taste defeat in the competition. According to Ouest-France, Olympiakos have three wins from three Europa League matches this season, a perfect record.

For this clash, Franck Haise must do without Estéban Lepaul, still troubled by an ankle problem, but he has Brice Samba back in goal, Le Télégramme reports.

For their part, Rennes remain unbeaten at home in Ligue 1 this season, OneFootball points out. Roazhon Park, where the match will be played, has therefore not seen its team beaten in the league this season.

The schedule after Olympiakos

After this European fixture, Rennes’ schedule includes a trip to Grenoble, or the next Ligue 1 match after the international break.

The starting XI is not yet official, however: it is based on probable line-ups.
