Dalian K’un City: a farewell match for Nyasha Mushekwi, 39!

At 39, Nyasha Mushekwi plays on Saturday with Dalian K’un City the last match of the China League One season against Meizhou Hakka, on which occasion a farewell match will be organised in his honour, according to Dongqiudi.

On Saturday 7 November 2026, the 39-year-old Zimbabwean striker will play the last match of the China League One season with Dalian K’un City against Meizhou Hakka, at Jinzhou Stadium. According to Dongqiudi, the encounter will take on the look of a farewell match for the man who arrived in Dalian in 2016.

The tribute will not be limited to his current club: according to the same source, Dalian Yingbo will also organise a ceremony. Two structures from the same city therefore plan to pay tribute to the player, each on its own side.

Three clubs, three promotions

Arriving in Dalian in 2016 from Mamelodi Sundowns, the Zimbabwe international (17 caps, 6 goals) scored 19 goals in 30 matches in his first season, according to Dongqiudi. The following season, he scored 16 goals in 29 matches and helped the club win promotion to the Chinese Super League.

The journey then continued at Zhejiang FC, between 2019 and 2023, with 23 goals in 2021, a second-division top scorer title and another promotion to the Super League. In 2024, in the colours of Yunnan Yukun, he signed for 25 goals in 30 matches, finishing as China League One top scorer and securing promotion.

Twelve goals this season

With Dalian K’un City this season, Mushekwi has 27 matches, 12 goals and 1 assist, again according to Dongqiudi. Figures below his 2021 and 2024 seasons, when he scored 23 and 25 goals.

Born on 21 August 1987 in Harare, Mushekwi will experience on Saturday a final China League One evening in the colours of Dalian K’un City, against Meizhou Hakka, at Jinzhou Stadium where a farewell match will be organised in his honour.

Two ceremonies, one tribute

The distinction between the two structures is worth emphasising: the farewell match is linked to Dalian K’un City, whose last match of the season is being played at Jinzhou, while Dalian Yingbo, another entity from the city, is planning its own ceremony, according to Dongqiudi.
