With two goals and an assist against Monaco (3-1), Lassine Sinayoko earned a 9/10 in the Ligue 1 matchday 9 team of the week. The Paris FC Mali striker also tops L’Équipe’s ratings and the scoring charts.

L’Équipe has unveiled its Ligue 1 matchday 9 team of the week, with Lassine Sinayoko included on a 9/10 rating. The Paris FC striker was a heavyweight against Monaco (3-1), scoring twice and setting up another. According to the sports daily, the Mali international almost single-handedly crushed the Principality club.

It was a prolific matchday: 32 goals in 9 games, according to L’Équipe. Two other players earned the same rating: Achraf Hakimi, the PSG right-back, who scored three and assisted two in the 5-1 win at Le Havre, and Nice centre-forward Elye Wahi, who scored a hat-trick and provided an assist in Nice’s 5-2 victory over Rennes.

Eight goals and top of the charts

Paris FC have a centre-forward in rich form. According to Ligue1.com, Sinayoko leads the Ligue 1 scoring charts with 8 goals, ahead of Estéban Lepaul (7), then Amine Gouiri, Elye Wahi and Cameron Archer (6). The season is still long, but the Mali striker has installed himself at the top of the standings.

His consistency also shows in L’Équipe’s ratings. With an average of 6.56 this season, Sinayoko is the best-rated player by the daily, well ahead of Lucas Tousart and Adil Bourabaa (6.20). That average evolves from matchday to matchday and does not constitute a definitive ranking, but it illustrates the Paris FC striker’s consistency since the start of the season.

Hakimi and Wahi, the same 9/10

Matchday 9 produced three 9/10 ratings. Achraf Hakimi’s rewards three goals and two assists in PSG’s 5-1 win at Le Havre, an unprecedented feat for a defender in twenty years, according to L’Équipe. The Moroccan shares the distinction with Sinayoko and Elye Wahi, the Nice striker being the main actor in OGC Nice’s 5-2 demolition of Rennes, with three goals and an assist.

These distinctions come in a goal-rich matchday: 32 in 9 matches. The three players alone scored eight of those goals, each in a different register: the goalscoring defender, the scorer-assister and the Nice striker’s hat-trick.

PSG expected at Villarreal

For Hakimi, the next chapter plays out on the European stage: PSG travel to Villarreal in the Champions League this week. The Moroccan right-back follows up his Le Havre masterclass with this trip to Spain.

As for Paris FC, the available information does not specify the club’s matchday 10 opponent or the date of the fixture.
