Galatasaray: Osimhen « very dangerous » for Stuttgart and 10 goals in 10 games!

Ahead of Stuttgart-Galatasaray in the Champions League, VfB defender Maximilian Mittelstädt has praised Victor Osimhen, Galatasaray’s Nigerian striker, who has scored 10 goals in 10 appearances in all competitions this season.

Victor Osimhen comes into this fixture in form. Galatasaray’s Nigerian striker scored his 9th Süper Lig goal of the season on Friday in the 4-0 win at Konyaspor, according to Leadership. In all competitions he now has 10 goals in 10 appearances, the Daily Post reports, including one against his former club Lille in the Champions League.

That return has caught the eye of Maximilian Mittelstädt. Ahead of Stuttgart-Galatasaray, scheduled for Tuesday 3 November at 21:00 in the Champions League, the German defender praised the Nigerian in comments relayed by the Daily Post.

Mittelstädt: « perhaps one of the best »

« We have prepared for Galatasaray. We know they are very good defensively but they also have exceptional players in attack, like Osimhen, who is very dangerous. He has shown in recent years that he is perhaps one of the best strikers in the world, » the German defender said, quoted by the Daily Post.

The defender, who will have to contain the striker on Tuesday night, has therefore acknowledged his threat and, in his own words, places Osimhen among the best strikers in the world.

Nine goals, joint top scorer

In the league, Osimhen shares top spot in the scoring charts with Gift Orban, both men on 9 goals, according to Leadership. He has, however, 3 assists, against 4 for Orban, according to the same source.

His goal at Konyaspor took his tally to 9 in the Süper Lig, the figure to remember when measuring his season in Turkey. Add to that a Champions League goal against Lille, bringing his overall record to 10 goals in 10 appearances this season, according to the Daily Post.

Osimhen is not, however, among the 26 finalists for the FIFPRO Men’s World 11 2026, a list announced on 2 November. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané are also absent, a choice fuelling debate on social media, as reported by Foot-Africa. The vote involved 19,806 professional footballers from 73 countries; the final World 11 will be unveiled on 9 November.

Fitness and the Champions League fixture

His physical condition remains uncertain. Osimhen received treatment during Galatasaray’s last Süper Lig match, the Daily Post reports, saying he is expected to be available against Stuttgart. There is no indication yet whether he will start the match.

The trip to Stuttgart, on Tuesday 3 November at 21:00, comes six days before the unveiling of the FIFPRO World 11, scheduled for 9 November.
