Cameroon: Ebosse back, Pagou unveils 28 Lions to face Namibia!

Four years after his last call-up, Enzo Ebosse (Udinese) is back with the Indomitable Lions on the 28-man list unveiled by David Pagou for the double header against Namibia.

Head coach David Pagou presented a list of 28 Indomitable Lions on Monday 26 October at the Fécafoot headquarters in Yaoundé for matchdays 3 and 4 of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers, against Namibia. Among the returning players is Enzo Ebosse.

The Udinese player had not been called up since the 2022 World Cup, where he started against Brazil on 2 December. He is therefore back with the national team after a four-year absence. In the same squad, Carlos Baleba, who plays for Manchester United, also returns alongside his teammate Bryan Mbeumo, according to Le Club 360.

Ebosse, back after the 2022 World Cup

His last cap dates back to the match against Brazil on 2 December 2022. In the meantime, his career was held back by two ruptures of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in 2023, which kept him out of the 2023 AFCON, Le Club 360 reports.

Baleba, Mbeumo and the rest of the list

Midfielder Carlos Baleba returns alongside Bryan Mbeumo, both at Manchester United. The midfield also includes Arthur Avom (Lorient) and Danny Namaso (Auxerre). Five new faces appear on the list.

In goal are Simon Brady Ngapandouetnbu (Montpellier), Blondy Noukeu (US Boulogne), Merlin Lako (Marumo Gallants) and Édouard Sombang (Colombe du Dja-et-Lobo). The attacking department relies in particular on Geovanni Vianney Agbor Ndjee (FC Copenhagen), Angel Yondjo (Lille), Bil Nsongo (Deportivo La Coruña) and Ivan Bikoue (Alanyaspor). Christian Kofane is ruled out.

Two matches against Namibia

According to the qualifying schedule consulted on Qiumiwu, Cameroon will face Namibia on 12 November 2026 at 01:00 Paris time. The return match is scheduled for 16 November.

These two matches count for matchdays 3 and 4 of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
