Cameroon U15: the Little Lions roar past Senegal 3-0 in World Cup opener

In the all-African clash in Group K, Cameroon emphatically beat Senegal 3-0 in Baku on the opening day of the U15 World Cup. Fareilromain Ngobo, Andy Daniel Massoda and Randy Ngome scored the Little Lions’ goals.

The FIFA U15 World Cup and Festival opened its doors on Saturday 24 October 2026 in Baku, Azerbaijan. In its very first edition, the competition brings together nearly 190 national teams, including 20 African ones, in a brand-new 8-a-side format with two 20-minute halves, reports Afrik-Foot.

The all-African clash in Group K went Cameroon’s way, with the Little Lions emphatically beating Senegal 3-0. The Little Lions pulled clear from the 17th minute, while the continent’s other national teams produced mixed results on this opening day.

Ngobo, Massoda and Ngome in fine form

Cameroon never let the suspense build. Fareilromain Ngobo, the Little Lions’ striker, broke the deadlock in the 17th minute. Three minutes later, Andy Daniel Massoda, a midfielder and forward in the U15 team, doubled the lead.

Randy Ngome, also a striker, scored Cameroon’s third and final goal in the 32nd minute, fifteen minutes after the opener. Senegal could find no way through against a team that made the difference.

Morocco and South Africa deliver

Meanwhile, Morocco made a perfect start to their tournament by beating the Philippines 2-0. Safouan Bellamine opened the scoring as early as the 6th minute, before Said Noufii doubled the lead in the 18th. Both Moroccan scorers thus found the net before half-time.

South Africa inflicted a crushing 8-0 defeat on the Maldives in their opening match. Tunisia also began with a win against Nepal (3-1), while Congo saw off Tajikistan (3-2).

DR Congo beaten, matchday two in Baku

Not every national team on the continent enjoyed the same success. DR Congo went down 2-3 to El Salvador in their opener, despite goals from Charles Shina and Elie Lobwa, according to Afrik-Foot.

Matchday two is scheduled from Sunday 25 October 2026 in Baku. All the competition’s matches are being played at the Hövsan Olympic Sports Complex, according to the FFF.
