Cameroon: Pagou unveils his squad on Monday, with Kofane’s absence to handle!

Cameroon head coach David Pagou unveils his squad on Monday 26 October in Yaoundé for the double header against Namibia. According to Dailysports, Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane is ruled out through injury.

The scene is set: Monday 26 October, 10:00 GMT, at the headquarters of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) in Yaoundé. David Pagou, head coach of the Indomitable Lions, will hold a press conference there to unveil the players selected for the November international break, according to Dailysports.

That squad list comes with bad news in its luggage. Christian Kofane, the Bayer Leverkusen striker, has been ruled out: he is suffering from a left thigh injury picked up at the last gathering in Garoua, the same source reports. The coach will therefore have to build his attack without one of his forwards, in a window where the calendar is already crowded.

Two matches, a tight schedule

The Indomitable Lions play the 3rd and 4th matchdays of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Namibia, according to Dailysports. The first leg will be played at home in Yaoundé on 12 November 2026, before a trip to Namibia four days later, on 16 November.

In this campaign, Cameroon have one win, 3-1 against the Comoros, and one draw from their opening matches, still according to the same source.

Kofane, a costly absence

The information comes from Dailysports: the Cameroonian striker injured his left thigh at the last gathering in Garoua and will not make the trip. An absence that hits the attacking department directly.

David Pagou will therefore have his work cut out to build his attack. According to Dailysports, the squad list must precisely clarify the attacking options chosen in Kofane’s absence for this double header, presented as crucial.

What to expect on Monday

So the appointment is set in Yaoundé, at a press conference, for the publication of the squad list. The head coach will set out his choices for the November break, starting with the players called upon to cover for the Bayer Leverkusen striker.

The two matches during the break will be played on 12 November 2026 in Yaoundé, then 16 November 2026 in Namibia.
