MC Alger have named their official line-up to face Enugu Rangers this Friday at the Douéra stadium. Defender and captain Ayoub Ghezala and striker Zakaria Naidji are in the eleven, for a club beaten 2-0 in the first leg.
MC Alger announced, this Friday 23 October 2026, the official line-up that will take on Enugu Rangers at the Ali-Ammar (Ali-La-Pointe) stadium in Douéra, for the second leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round. Oussama Benhaoua, sent off in the first leg, is not in the eleven. Kick-off is set for 20:00 local time (19:00 GMT), with live coverage on TV1 / ENTV.
The Algiers side trail 2-0 after the first leg, played on 18 October in Nigeria.
Ghezala captain, Naidji in the eleven
The eleven, unveiled under coach Khaled Ben Yahia, comprises Ramdane, Khelif, Ferhat, Zougrana, Bangoura, Ghezala, Halaimia, Abdelkader, Mehdaoui, Naidji and Menzela.
Ayoub Ghezala, defender and captain, is included alongside Zakaria Naidji, striker, and Mohamed Zougrana, midfielder.
A first leg marked by sendings-off
The first leg had been highly charged. Nigerian goalkeeper Lucky Jimoh was sent off as early as the 13th minute, before Oussama Benhaoua was dismissed on the Algerian side around the 52nd, followed by a member of the staff in the 70th. Enugu Rangers made the difference late in the match, from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute and then through James Emo in the 87th.
Enugu Rangers had requested a match behind closed doors by lodging a complaint with CAF. The request was rejected: the crowd will indeed be present at the Douéra ground to urge MCA on. A backing that recalls the 1976 epic: the Algerian club had already eliminated this same opponent after losing 2-0 in the first leg, before going on to win the Champions Clubs’ Cup, according to DzBallon.
A place in the group stage at stake
To hope for a penalty shoot-out, MC Alger must win by at least two goals without conceding, or by three goals to confirm their qualification outright, according to Foot Africa.
The final whistle this Friday 23 October 2026 will decide the club qualified for the CAF Champions League group stage. The official draw for that stage is scheduled by CAF on 28 October 2026 in Cairo.
