Mamelodi Sundowns – USM Alger: Dahane Beida to referee the Super Cup!

CAF has entrusted the 2026 Africa Super Cup to Mauritania’s Dahane Beida. Mamelodi Sundowns, the Champions League winners, and USM Alger, the reigning Confederation Cup winners, meet on 8 November in Pretoria.

The refereeing line-up is known. Less than three weeks before the match, the Confederation of African Football has unveiled the officials who will take charge of the 2026 Africa Super Cup final between Mamelodi Sundowns and USM Alger, Foot Afrique reports. Mauritania’s Dahane Beida, an international referee, has been appointed to officiate the match.

Kick-off will be at 14:00 Algerian time (13:00 GMT) on Sunday 8 November 2026 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, according to DzBallon. On one side, the South Africans come in as Champions League winners; on the other, the Algerians arrive as reigning Confederation Cup winners.

An all-Mauritanian trio in charge

Dahane Beida will be joined by two of his compatriots. Abdel Aziz Bouh will serve as fourth official, while Babacar Sarr has been named lead video referee (VAR), according to Foot Afrique. The VAR team will be completed by Cameroon’s Carine Atezambong Fomo as assistant VAR and Sudan’s Abdalaziz Yasir Ahmed Abdalaziz as assistant VAR.

On the touchline, Beida will be assisted by Senegal’s Gabriel Camara and Cameroon’s Elvis Guy Noupue Nguegoue, the same source states. Zimbabwe’s Desmond Maringo has been appointed match observer, with Madagascar’s Halay Zafini Menga acting as general coordinator.

USMA and the 2023 precedent

In 2023, USM Alger beat Al Ahly (1-0) to win the Africa Super Cup, La Gazette du Fennec recalls. The Algerians will therefore be trying to claim a second Africa Super Cup.

On the South African side, Mamelodi Sundowns qualify for this clash as Champions League winners, according to La Gazette du Fennec.

A 5% quota for the Algerians

USM Alger supporters will be able to make the trip: DzBallon reports that a regulation quota of 5% of Loftus Versfeld seats will be reserved for them in the East Stand.

In total, seven match officials have been appointed for this game, including three Mauritanians: Dahane Beida, Abdel Aziz Bouh and Babacar Sarr.
