Crystal Palace have sent a contract extension offer to Ismaïla Sarr, the Senegalese right winger, who has not yet put pen to paper. According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United are monitoring the situation closely ahead of the January transfer window.
At Crystal Palace, the board have sent a contract extension offer to Ismaïla Sarr, but the Senegal international has not yet signed it. According to TEAMtalk, he is hesitant to sign, even though his representatives are happy with the wages on offer. The matter therefore remains unresolved.
That reticence has not gone unnoticed among his suitors. Manchester United are reportedly watching the winger very closely ahead of the January transfer window, according to TEAMtalk, as relayed by AfricaFoot. No signature has been announced, no transfer completed: the saga is only just beginning.
Manchester United make their move
In Manchester, the interest is reportedly not just a pipe dream. Sarr’s profile is said to appeal particularly to Michael Carrick, the Manchester United manager, according to TEAMtalk, because of his ability to play both on the wing and through the middle.
Other avenues are also being explored. Newcastle United and Sunderland have reportedly expressed their interest to the player’s entourage, and approaches from Saudi Pro League clubs have been reported for the winter transfer window. The 28-year-old, for his part, remains under contract with the Eagles.
A summer under close watch
Interest in Ismaïla Sarr is nothing new. Galatasaray had already tried to secure his services during the summer transfer window, but Crystal Palace vetoed the move, according to TEAMtalk. The London club had at the time set a valuation of €60 million, according to LiveFoot.
Time is on the Eagles’ side: the Senegal international is under contract until June 2028, which spares the club any immediate financial urgency, TEAMtalk points out. Steve Parish, Crystal Palace’s chairman, can therefore let the weeks pass without immediate pressure.
Beşiktaş before the big moves
In the meantime, the football takes over again. Sarr is part of the London squad travelling to face Beşiktaş this Thursday, 22 October 2026 at 21:00, in the Europa League, according to Football Écologie France.
The contract, however, remains unsigned: his representatives are reportedly happy with the wages on offer, but no signature has been forthcoming at this stage.
