According to the press, Hussein Ammouta, the Al Ahly coach, has made Oussama Noureddine, the MAS Fès defensive midfielder, his priority for the winter transfer window. The club from Fès are demanding $1.5m for their player.
According to Foot-Africa.com, Hussein Ammouta, the Al Ahly SC coach, has made Oussama Noureddine (25), the defensive midfielder of Maghreb Association Sportive de Fès (MAS), his absolute priority to strengthen the Egyptian midfield in the winter transfer window. The information remains a rumour at this stage.
The deal does, however, come with a price tag. According to AfricaFoot, the MAS Fès board flatly refuse to part with their player for anything less than $1.5m.
A contract that ties MAS’s hands
The club from Fès hold a lever in the talks: Oussama Noureddine is tied to MAS until 30 June 2030, after signing a contract extension in May 2026, AfricaFoot reports. A long-term deal.
The specialist platform Transfermarkt nonetheless values the defensive midfielder at around €600,000, according to Foot-Africa.com. The MAS board had, in fact, initially been open to the idea of Noureddine moving to Europe, before the Egyptian approach, AfricaFoot specifies.
Ammouta wants to ease the load on Attia
On the pitch, the target meets an identified need. Ammouta wants to bring in Noureddine to offer a solid alternative in the number 6 holding role and to ease the load on Egypt international Marwan Attia, the Al Ahly defensive midfielder, Foot-Africa.com indicates. Noureddine recently caught the eye on 18 October 2026 by opening the scoring in the 31st minute against ASEC Mimosas (1-1), in the CAF Champions League.
The move, however, appears to be driven by the coach alone. The Egyptian journalist Abdel Hakim Abu Alam confirmed on the On Sport set Ammouta’s lone determination on the deal: “Al Ahly are not particularly keen on signing a new midfielder, but Ammouta is determined to get Oussama Noureddine, the Maghreb Fès player.” A quote reported by ON Time Sports.
The Benjdida precedent in mind
The two clubs have already completed a major transaction, in July 2026, with the transfer of the striker Soufiane Benjdida, now at Al Ahly, Medias24 recalls. Top scorer in the 2025-2026 Botola with 20 goals in 30 matches, Benjdida had signed a three-year deal in Egypt.
Formal negotiations between the Al Ahly and MAS boards are scheduled before the opening of the winter transfer window, in January 2027.
Noureddine’s next match will be the second-leg return of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round against ASEC Mimosas, on 25 October 2026 in Abidjan.
