  • Egypt, EN

The draw held in Cairo produced two groups for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League: AS FAR, the reigning African champions, will defend their crown against Kawempe Muslim Ladies, while FUS Rabat will play alongside Masar.

CAF has confirmed the composition of the two groups for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League, whose final phase will be played in Egypt from 1 to 15 November 2026, according to APAnews. The draw, conducted in Cairo by Burkina Faso international Stéphanie Zida, split eight teams into two pools. They come from the UNAF, UNIFFAC, CECAFA, UFOA A and UFOA B zones, plus the Egyptian host club.

Two Moroccan clubs feature in the line-up: AS FAR, the defending champions, and FUS Rabat, qualified via UNAF. AS FAR will defend their crown in Group B, while FUS Rabat have been placed in Group A, which also includes the host club.

FC Masar kick things off

Group A brings together FC Masar, the Egyptian club and tournament hosts, Mamelodi Sundowns, two-time champions, FUS Rabat and Lekié Football Filles, the Cameroonian representatives qualified via UNIFFAC.

The opening match will pit FC Masar against Mamelodi Sundowns on 1 November 2026, according to the schedule unveiled by CAF. FUS Rabat, for their part, are in a four-team pool where only the top two will qualify for the semi-finals.

AS FAR defend their crown

In Group B, AS FAR, the reigning African champions, will begin the defence of their title on 2 November 2026 against Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim Ladies, qualified via CECAFA, according to APAnews. The group also includes USFAS Bamako, the UFOA A (Mali) representatives, as well as a UFOA B representative still to be confirmed.

The top two from each pool will qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled for 11 November.

Mark your calendars for 11 November

The final phase will be held entirely in Egypt, from 1 to 15 November 2026. The semi-finals will be played on 11 November, with the grand final four days later, on 15 November, according to the schedule confirmed by CAF and reported by APAnews.

Until then, the last UFOA B qualifier is still to be confirmed; they will join Group B alongside AS FAR, Kawempe Muslim Ladies and USFAS Bamako. Each pool will thus feature four teams.
