PSG: Hakimi the provider as Barcelona are tamed 4-2 at the Parc!

Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi delivered the assist for Paris Saint-Germain’s fourth goal in their 4-2 Champions League win over FC Barcelona. PSG remain on a flawless run, with nine points from three games.

Paris Saint-Germain beat FC Barcelona 4-2 at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday 20 October 2026, on matchday 3 of the Champions League league phase. Hakimi played a big part: he provided the assist for Paris’s fourth goal, scored by Fabián Ruiz around the 85th minute, according to Mountakhab.net.

After the match, the Moroccan spoke to Planete PSG / Canal+: “We’re tired. We ran a lot. We’re very happy with the win and the three points,” he said.

A match of twists and turns between the 71st and 85th minutes

PSG opened the scoring around the 37th minute through Désiré Doué, after an error by FC Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal. Barça responded after the break: Xavi Espart equalised around the 55th minute.

Lucas Hernández put the Parisians back in front around the 72nd minute, before Lamine Yamal made it 2-2 around the 79th minute. Vitinha swung the match PSG’s way around the 81st minute, then midfielder Fabián Ruiz made it 4-2 around the 85th minute.

An assist, but still no goal

Hakimi influenced the game beyond his assist. On 71 minutes he had picked out Ferran Torres inside the box, whose effort struck the post. He did not find the net himself: “On the pitch I try to give my maximum. I’m happy about the assist. It’s been a long time since I scored. I tried on Tuesday night but it didn’t come off,” he told Planete PSG / Canal+.

The right-back also stressed his team’s ambitions: “Against the big teams, we want to show our quality, that we are champions of Europe.”

Nine points from three games, Villarreal in their sights

With this win, PSG have 9 points from 3 Champions League league-phase games, a flawless run, according to Morocco World News. The Parisians had already strung together another prestigious win by the same score (4-2) against Manchester City on matchday 2, according to Mountakhab.net.

PSG did, however, lose Ousmane Dembélé to a hamstring injury as early as the 19th minute, then Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on 59 minutes, according to Morocco World News. The nature and length of these absences were not specified.

PSG coach Luis Enrique’s next European fixture is set for Tuesday 3 November 2026 at 21:00 against Villarreal, on matchday 4 of the Champions League.
