According to AfricaFoot and Foot Parisien, PSG have placed Cameroon international left-back Mahamadou Nagida, of Stade Rennais, among their priority targets. Tied to Rennes until June 2028, the player is valued at 10 million euros by Transfermarkt.
It is a rumour coming out of Paris that is stirring up the full-back market. According to AfricaFoot and Foot Parisien, Paris Saint-Germain have included the name of Mahamadou Nagida, Stade Rennais’ left-back, among their priority targets for the coming transfer windows. The capital club would not be alone in the chase: according to Top Mercato, two other European heavyweights have already made contact with the Breton club’s hierarchy.
At 21, the Cameroonian is already attracting the attention of Parisian recruiters. His powerful, versatile profile appeals to the scouts of Luis Campos, PSG’s sporting adviser, according to Top Mercato. The question remains whether Rennes, who hold his contract until June 2028, are ready to let him go.
A big performance in the Europa League
Nagida comes off a big performance in the Europa League with Rennes against OFI Crete, according to Foot Parisien. The same outlet reports that he has pushed Quentin Merlin onto the bench, and then into the stands, at Rennes.
Trained at the Brasseries du Cameroun academy, Nagida joined France in August 2023, according to Transfermarkt. He has 13 caps for Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions.
A value estimated at 10 million
Transfermarkt values him at 10 million euros at present. Tied to Rennes until June 2028, the player remains under contract with the Breton club, as reported by Foot Parisien.
PSG are not the only club interested in the player. Top Mercato states that two other European heavyweights have already made contact with the Breton club’s hierarchy, without their identity being specified.
According to Top Mercato, Stade Rennais intend to resist: they want to negotiate a possible pay rise or a sale at a high price.
On the Paris side, one target among others
AfricaFoot describes a PSG keeping an eye on several African gems in Ligue 1, and Nagida is on that list. No advanced negotiations are mentioned by the sources, who limit themselves to reporting the interest of Luis Campos’ scouts.
The rest will be decided on the pitch. Rennes must play the next round of Ligue 1 fixtures, then continue their Europa League group stage. The report does not specify a timetable for a possible transfer.
