Targeted by a Saudi first-division club, Moroccan centre-back Achraf Dari has reportedly chosen to stay at Al Ahly, where he is getting game time again. Capped seven times by Morocco, the 27-year-old would honour his contract until summer 2028.
Achraf Dari is not going anywhere. According to AfricaFoot, the Moroccan centre-back at Al Ahly has made up his mind: he will see out his contractual commitment with the Cairo club, which runs until summer 2028. A firm decision, taken while a Saudi first-division club had made a move in recent days to try to sign him.
The player has ruled out, again according to AfricaFoot, any immediate departure or exit in the next winter transfer window. That choice closes, at least for now, the speculation over his future, after a return to Wydad Casablanca was seriously discussed during the last summer transfer window.
A contract to honour until 2028
According to AfricaFoot, Achraf Dari’s position is clear: he wants to respect his deal with the Egyptian giants rather than be tempted by Saudi Arabia. The Saudi first-division club had made a move in recent days to try to sign him.
The prospect of a return to Wydad had been seriously discussed during the summer. This time, it was a Saudi club that tried their luck, without the player following up.
Renewed trust in Cairo
Al Ahly’s coaching staff and management have renewed their full trust in Achraf Dari for the challenges ahead. The player is getting game time again and is re-establishing himself as a key piece of the Cairo club’s defensive unit, again according to AfricaFoot.
The former Stade Brestois player had joined the Egyptian club to relaunch his career on the African continent. This renewed confidence now allows him to settle permanently in Al Ahly’s defence.
Al Ahly on several fronts
The Cairo club are fighting on several fronts to defend their title in the Egyptian Premier League and in the CAF Champions League. A busy schedule in which the defender will have to confirm his place.
On the agenda: the upcoming CAF Champions League group-stage matches, then the resumption of the Egyptian league, scheduled for late October 2026.
