Newcastle United: Manchester United and Arsenal closely tracking Bazoumana Touré!

Newcastle United’s Ivorian international winger Bazoumana Touré, signed in summer 2026 for around £43 million, is reportedly attracting interest from Manchester United and Arsenal. But his immediate news is medical: a physical warning picked up against Coventry City.

Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly keeping a very close eye on Bazoumana Touré. The information, relayed by CaughtOffside and AfricaFoot, places Newcastle United’s Ivorian international winger at the centre of Premier League interest, while Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are also closely monitoring his performances.

But the situation is not yet a transfer one. No formal offer has been submitted to the Magpies’ hierarchy, who consider the player not for sale in the short term. And the immediate news around the 20-year-old is far more medical than mercantile.

A physical warning against Coventry

Bazoumana Touré picked up a physical warning on Tuesday 13 October, during Newcastle United’s 1-4 defeat to Coventry City. The severity of the injury is not yet known, and medical tests are expected to precisely assess the left winger’s situation.

With the next round of Premier League fixtures approaching, Newcastle are therefore awaiting the results of those tests.

Two goals in five appearances

Arriving in summer 2026 from Hoffenheim for around £43 million, or €50 million, the Ivorian international signed a very long-term contract, until June 2031. A heavy investment, for a player who operates as a winger under Eddie Howe.

Since his debut for the Magpies, he has a record of two goals scored in five appearances in all competitions, according to AfricaFoot. He found the net in the Premier League against Leeds United, then in the EFL Cup against West Bromwich Albion. Modest statistics in volume, at a time when several clubs are tracking him.

Trained at ASEC Mimosas in Ivory Coast, he moved via Hammarby in Sweden before joining Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga. That path led him to the Premier League.

A rumour that commits to nothing

If Manchester United and Arsenal are monitoring the player, and if Tottenham and Aston Villa are also closely following his performances in the Premier League, nothing currently indicates that a move is imminent. Both sources cite interest, not negotiation.

At Newcastle, the position is clear: no formal offer has been submitted and the player is considered not for sale in the short term. The Magpies therefore have no departure situation to manage, at least not yet.

On the medical side, the exact nature of the physical warning picked up against Coventry remains to be clarified, with tests expected.
