Bouaddi with Morocco: Fajr drops a bombshell — « If he had the level, he’d be playing for France »

Former Moroccan international Faycal Fajr has made a bold claim about Ayoub Bouaddi’s national team choice. According to him, the young midfielder’s decision to play for the Atlas Lions says it all — France’s competition was simply too high for him.

Faycal Fajr didn’t hold back. The ex-Morocco international fired a provocative shot at Ayoub Bouaddi following his decision to represent Morocco over France, stating bluntly: « If he had the level, he’d be playing for France. » The comment has sparked immediate debate around the highly-rated young midfielder, long considered one of the brightest prospects in French football. Fajr’s logic is straightforward: if French selectors overlooked him, it must mean he wasn’t quite up to the standard required at the highest level of Les Bleus’ midfield.

However, the argument cuts both ways. Morocco also boasts one of the most competitive midfields in Africa and the Arab world, featuring the likes of Ounahi, Amrabat, and Belahyane — and Fajr himself acknowledges the competition within the Atlas Lions is fierce. Bouaddi will have plenty to prove whichever way you look at it, but his international allegiance is now settled. The pitch will be where he answers his critics.
