Abderrazak Hamdallah: Loaned to Al Hilal for FIFA Club World Cup 2025, a Temporary Return to a Saudi Giant

Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah, currently under contract with Al-Shabab, was loaned to Al Hilal specifically for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup due to injuries in Al Hilal’s attacking lineup. This short-term move, enabled by FIFA’s special provisions allowing player additions before the tournament, saw Hamdallah join Al Hilal in late June 2025 and contribute immediately in the quarter-final stage.

Despite this loan, Hamdallah remains an Al-Shabab player and is expected to return to the Riyadh-based club after the tournament. At 34 years old, Hamdallah has been one of the Saudi Pro League’s most prolific scorers, previously shining for Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad, and having scored 21 goals in 26 league appearances for Al-Shabab last season. His contract with Al-Shabab runs until June 2027, confirming his long-term commitment.

This emergency loan was crucial for Al Hilal as they faced key absences, including Serbian forward Aleksandar Mitrović and captain Salem Al-Dawsari, allowing coach Simone Inzaghi to bolster their squad for a deep run in the tournament.

Abderrazak Hamdallah remains a key figure in Saudi football, known for his scoring prowess and now adding another chapter to his career with this strategic, temporary move to Al Hilal during the Club World Cup.
