Galatasaray is about to finalize the transfer of Wilfried Singo, the Ivorian international defender from AS Monaco. According to multiple sources, the Turkish club has made a firm offer of €30 million to Monaco, with up to €5 million in performance-related bonuses. Additionally, a 10% sell-on clause for any future transfer has been negotiated, reflecting the quality and potential of the 24-year-old player who quickly established himself in Ligue 1 and with the national team.
Since joining Monaco in summer 2023 from Torino, Wilfried Singo has stood out defensively while contributing 4 goals and 4 assists in 60 matches, notably participating in Monaco’s recent UEFA Champions League campaign. With 31 caps for the Ivory Coast and a title as African Cup of Nations champion in 2023 on home soil, Singo offers a very complete profile both centrally and at right-back.
The negotiations saw several twists, especially on salary. Initially aligned close to €7 million per year, Singo agreed to reduce his wage demands to around €4.5 to €4.8 million net annually, enabling Galatasaray to present a financially viable proposal. The club wants to close the deal quickly, including a loan with an option to buy confirmed at €25 million at season’s end, to integrate Singo into their squad for domestic league and European competitions.
The five-year contract, starting from the 2025-2026 season, is expected to be signed soon. This transfer fits into Galatasaray’s ambitious sporting strategy aiming to strengthen their defense with a versatile player capable of performing both as a center-back and right-back. AS Monaco has thanked Wilfried Singo for his commitment during his seasons with the Red and Whites and wishes him well as he embarks on this new chapter in Istanbul.
