Karamokho Camara signs his first professional contract with Le Havre AC

At only 18 years old, Karamokho Camara, a young versatile central defender of Malian origin, has reached an agreement to sign his first professional contract with the French club Le Havre AC. Until now, Camara played for Dakar Sacré-Cœur, a Senegalese Ligue 1 club where he was trained and where he demonstrated his qualities, particularly as a left-footed defender with an imposing physique. Le Havre and his agent have formalized an agreement, and the player is expected in France to undergo his medical examination and finalize his signing.

Nicknamed « Boua » (meaning « father » in Bambara) by those close to him, Karamokho Camara comes from a family of footballers: several of his older brothers play in Europe, such as Mamadou Camara in Montenegro, Papa Bamory Camara in Italy, and Idrissa Camara, a former second division Turkish league player. This strong family heritage has contributed to his promising profile, attracting the attention of several European and African clubs, but he chose to continue his professional career in France.

Karamokho Camara’s transfer fits into Le Havre AC’s strategy to focus on youth and talent development. There are high expectations around this young defender, especially since his declared dream is to play in Ligue 1, the French top division. The Normandy club, currently preparing for its match against FC Lorient in the 2025/2026 Ligue 1 McDonald’s season, counts on the rapid progress of its new prodigy to strengthen its ranks.

This signing generates particular interest in the context of African football, where many young talents aim to move to European leagues. With his profile as a versatile defender, Karamokho Camara will bring new energy to Le Havre AC, which continues to invest in a promising future. His journey from Dakar Sacré-Cœur to Stade Océane highlights the growing appeal of the Senegalese Ligue 1 as a springboard to major European championships.
