Ivory Coast: Agbadou and Ouattara called up, Singo left out!

Head coach Hervé Renard has selected the two Beşiktaş defenders, Emmanuel Agbadou and Kassoum Ouattara, for the CAN 2027 qualifiers. Wilfried Singo, back from injury, does not appear on the list.

Beşiktaş will have two Ivory Coast internationals on the road to CAN 2027. Centre-back Emmanuel Agbadou and defender Kassoum Ouattara are on the 25-man list announced by head coach Hervé Renard for the two meetings with Gambia, reports Turkish outlet Ajans Beşiktaş.

Wilfried Singo, however, is not among those called up, despite his return to competition after injury, according to the same source. The Galatasaray defender is therefore absent from the list, while the two Beşiktaş players are on it.

Agbadou and Ouattara, Beşiktaş defenders

Emmanuel Agbadou, a centre-back, and Kassoum Ouattara, a defender, have been selected by Hervé Renard for the two matches against Gambia in the CAN 2027 qualifiers. They thus join the 25-man list announced by the head coach.

According to Ajans Beşiktaş, they are the two Ivorian players in the Istanbul squad, and their joint call-up merely confirms that presence in the national team.

Singo, a return without a call-up

Wilfried Singo’s case draws attention. The Galatasaray defender has returned to competition after injury, but he is not on Hervé Renard’s list, according to Ajans Beşiktaş. The source does not specify the reasons for this absence.

The head coach has therefore made a choice that leaves out a defender back from injury, while two Beşiktaş defenders are called up for the two meetings with Gambia.

Bouaké then Bakau, two matches against Gambia

The first leg will be played at the Stade de la Paix in Bouaké, and the return leg at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, Gambia, according to Ajans Beşiktaş. The dates of these two matches are not specified by the source.

The 25-man list also includes goalkeeper Alban Lafont, of Amed Sportif, and Yahia Fofana, of Çaykur Rizespor, again according to the Turkish outlet.

Ivory Coast are in Group C of the CAN 2027 qualifiers.
