Paris Saint-Germain have announced that Achraf Hakimi will be rested until the start of the international break. The right-back and captain is out of the visit of Troyes, but will then join the Atlas Lions for the CAF 2027 qualifiers.
Achraf Hakimi will not feature in the visit of ESTAC Troyes on Saturday 7 November for matchday 10 of Ligue 1. On 6 November, Paris Saint-Germain announced that their right-back and captain would be rested, in a statement relayed by OneFootball and MadeInFOOT. The rest period runs until the start of the international break, and the club specifies that the decision was taken with the coach and the sporting directorate.
The club speaks of a rest period, without mentioning any injury. The decision comes after two games in a week: Hakimi had played more than 70 minutes against Le Havre AC, where he scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists, then against Villarreal CF in the Champions League, a 6-0 win.
A planned rest before the break
The statement uses the following wording precisely: “In agreement with the coach and the sporting directorate, Achraf Hakimi is benefiting from a rest period until the start of the international break”.
Coach Luis Enrique must already cope with several injury absences: Marquinhos, Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Nuno Mendes are also unavailable. Hakimi will miss the match against Troyes, and PSG, who are on a run of four consecutive league wins, will have to do without him.
PSG lead the way before Troyes
Before this tenth matchday, Paris sit top of Ligue 1 with 20 points. Paris are unbeaten in their last six Ligue 1 meetings with ESTAC, with five wins and one draw, according to OffsAIde.
On an individual level, Hakimi has three goals and two assists in Ligue 1 this season, according to OffsAIde.
On to the 2027 AFCON with Morocco
Once the international break begins, Hakimi will join the Atlas Lions. Morocco’s camp for two 2027 AFCON qualifying matches takes place during this November break.
The player is also cited as the favourite to retain his African Player of the Year title at the CAF Awards 2026, according to KBC.
