Rulani Mokwena, head coach of Pyramids FC, has been named Egyptian Premier League Coach of the Month for October by the Egyptian Professional Footballers Association. The club has eight wins from eight league matches.
Rulani Mokwena keeps piling up the accolades in Egypt. After September’s award, he claims a second consecutive trophy, a recognition that rewards a near-perfect start to the season, according to All Football.
Under the South African coach, Pyramids FC have won all eight of their league matches this season and sit top of the table with a flawless record. A run that commands respect.
A double of awards
Already honoured in September, Rulani Mokwena does it again in October. “For the second consecutive month, Mokwena receives this recognition, marked by a remarkable record of eight wins in eight league matches,” said the Egyptian Professional Footballers Association, quoted by All Football. A double that illustrates his team’s consistency since the start of the campaign.
The South African coach thus sees his work rewarded by this professional body, which highlights his team’s results since the beginning of the season.
A run of 14 wins
Pyramids FC’s record is not limited to the league. Across all competitions, the club extended their winning streak to 14 by beating Smouha 1-0 in the Egyptian Capital Cup, reports All Football. An impressive momentum.
To put this streak in perspective, All Football recalls that the world record for consecutive wins remains held by Al Hilal, with 34 victories under Jorge Jesus between September 2023 and April 2024. A comparison that nevertheless calls for caution, as these are two distinct runs.
Focus on the CAF Champions League
Pyramids FC have qualified for the group stage of the CAF Champions League, according to All Football. A challenge that will be a major test for the Egyptian club and their South African coach, who will need to confirm the form shown since the start of the season. The group stage of Africa’s premier club competition promises to be a revealer for Pyramids.
Pyramids FC must still continue their league campaign, where they lead with a perfect record.
