Bayer Leverkusen: Ibrahim Maza bats his eyelids at PSG, but Paris aren’t negotiating!

Algeria attacking midfielder Ibrahim Maza (Bayer Leverkusen) has told Sky Sport Germany of his dream of one day wearing the Paris Saint-Germain shirt. According to RMC Sport, however, the Parisian club has no plans to negotiate.

Ibrahim Maza, 20, an attacking midfielder at Bayer Leverkusen, has told Sky Sport Germany that he wants to play for PSG one day, sport.fr reports. The Algeria international makes no secret of the ambition.

The dream is clearly stated. “Of course, it would be a huge dream to play one day for such a prestigious club. I think we all know how big a club Paris Saint-Germain is. It is one of the best in the world, alongside Real Madrid, Barcelona and Arsenal,” he told the German broadcaster. He added: “Playing for a club like that is a goal I am working towards, like many other footballers.”

Paris not planning to open the file

RMC Sport says PSG has no intention of entering negotiations for Maza, according to the details relayed by sport.fr. Paris coach Luis Enrique has reiterated that the club does not necessarily plan to sign anyone this winter despite Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s long spell out.

“No injury means you have to sign new players. […] But we remain alert to opportunities,” the coach commented.

A busy year with Algeria

At 20, Maza has already had a packed season. He was nominated for the 2026 Kopa Trophy and is among the contenders for the African Young Player of the Year title at the 2026 CAF Awards, according to horizons.dz and onefootball. With Algeria, he reached the quarter-finals of the 2026 AFCON as well as the second round of the World Cup, again according to horizons.dz.

With Leverkusen, he scored his club’s 79th goal, an unstoppable header, in the 4-2 defeat to Stuttgart, The Herald (AFP) reports.

The debate over the ten names

Maza was not included among the ten nominees for the African Player of the Year title, which has sparked debate, according to varzesh3 and khabaronline.

The CAF Awards ceremony is due to be held on 7 December 2026 in Lagos, Nigeria.
