The Morocco full-back and captain, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain, is among the 26-player shortlist for the 2026 FIFPRO Men’s World 11, based on votes from 19,806 professional footballers. The final XI will be unveiled on 9 November 2026.
Achraf Hakimi is the only African representative among the 26 players shortlisted for the 2026 FIFPRO Men’s World 11, reports Africa Top Sports. The full-back, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain, makes a list that includes Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland and Lamine Yamal.
This shortlist was drawn up from the votes of 19,806 professional footballers around the world, the same outlet reports. It is split between three goalkeepers, seven defenders, seven midfielders and nine forwards. The final XI will be unveiled on 9 November 2026, according to FIFPRO as relayed by Africa Top Sports: Hakimi’s place in that XI is therefore not guaranteed.
Four Parisians on the list
Hakimi is not the only Parisian in contention. His teammates Nuno Mendes, Vitinha and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are also among the 26 shortlisted players, making four PSG players on the list.
Four France internationals are also present: William Saliba, Dayot Upamecano, Kylian Mbappé and Michael Olise.
A hat-trick at Le Havre
For the Moroccan defender, this shortlisting adds to an already well-stocked honours list. Hakimi was indeed crowned in 2022, after his World Cup with Morocco, recalls Africa Top Sports.
Hakimi is coming off a historic weekend. According to AFP and Ahram Online, he scored the first hat-trick of his career in PSG’s 5-1 win at Le Havre in Ligue 1.
The full-back was involved in all five Parisian goals, with assists for Mika Godts and Senny Mayulu as well. These performances come as his name features on the 26-player shortlist.
A trip to Villarreal before the verdict
PSG return to the Champions League with a trip to Villarreal on 3 November 2026 at 21:00. That match precedes the unveiling of the FIFPRO XI, scheduled for 9 November.
