Deportivo La Coruña: Nsongo Bil strikes at the 87th minute to sink Osasuna!

Cameroonian striker Nsongo Bil gave Deportivo La Coruña their first La Liga win since 5 September on Monday night at Riazor, against Osasuna (2-1). His goal in the 87th minute tipped a match that had been level since the 64th.

Deportivo La Coruña had gone six consecutive league matches without a win. They ended that run on Monday night at Riazor, thanks to a goal from Nsongo Bil in the 87th minute, against Osasuna (2-1).

The decisive move involved Adama Traoré and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Traoré beat his man and crossed, Aubameyang headed it on, and Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera pushed the ball away before Bil bundled it over the line.

Budimir opens, Soriano levels

The script initially favoured the visitors. Osasuna had taken the lead through striker Ante Budimir in the first half, and Deportivo were chasing the game. It took a Mario Soriano free-kick in the 64th minute to bring the two teams level.

The Galician club then pushed to snatch a win they had been waiting for since 5 September. It came in the 87th minute, at the end of an attack in which Traoré and Aubameyang were at the origin of the goal.

Two goals in La Liga this season

For Nsongo Bil, this goal counts: it is his second in La Liga this season. The Cameroonian striker thus adds a decisive strike to his league tally.

Riazor breathes, what comes next awaited

The win ends a run of six consecutive league matches without victory for Deportivo. It is the team’s first La Liga win since 5 September, under coach Antonio Hidalgo.

Riazor breathes, what comes next awaited

Deportivo next play a La Liga matchday, the date of which is not specified. They will go into it having ended their poor run, with a win at Riazor in the bag.

Osasuna, who had led through Ante Budimir in the first half, leave Riazor beaten, two goals to one.
