OGC Nice beat Rennes 5-2 at the Allianz Riviera on 30 October on matchday 9 of Ligue 1. Mohamed Amoura, the Algerian international striker at the Azurean club, scored Nice’s fourth goal in the 52nd minute.
Nice built their win on Elye Wahi, the Nice striker who scored a hat-trick. He broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in the 12th minute, repeated the feat in the same fashion in the 35th, before completing his work in the 73rd. In between, Amoura had found the net.
Amoura benefits from Diop’s work
In the 52nd minute, Mohamed Amoura scored after a dribble, from an assist by Sofiane Diop, Nice’s Moroccan attacking midfielder. According to Arabkhabar, this is the international striker’s second goal in six matches for the Azurean club.
Just before half-time, Jonathan Clauss, the Nice full-back, made it 3-0 from a move in which Elye Wahi was involved, according to Nbhcyy. The latter thus completes a hat-trick, including two penalties in the 12th and 35th minutes.
Rennes pull one back without keeping pace with PSG
Second before the match, Rennes miss the chance to keep pace with PSG, reports Arabkhabar. The Bretons reduce the deficit with a penalty from Blay Dia in the 58th minute, but a goal is disallowed for offside in the 70th, according to Nbhcyy.
Wahi’s third goal, in the 73rd minute, his sixth of the season in Ligue 1, comes with an assist. Rennes thus concede five goals in this match.
A fourth win in five matchdays
With this result, Nice make it four wins in five matchdays, after victories against Lille, Strasbourg and Brest, and total 14 points, according to Nbhcyy.
Nice and Rennes return to Ligue 1 on the weekend of 1 November for the next matchday.
