Paris SG: Hakimi scores a hat-trick and provides two assists against Le Havre!

Moroccan full-back Achraf Hakimi scored three goals and provided two assists in Paris SG’s emphatic win over Le Havre (5-1). A historic performance for a defender in Ligue 1.

Paris Saint-Germain dominated Le Havre 5-1 on matchday 9 of Ligue 1, and Achraf Hakimi was the main architect of the rout. The Moroccan right-back scored a hat-trick and provided two assists, taking his involvement to five goals in the match, according to FilGoal.

Having gone behind after Josué Maga’s opener in the 18th minute, the Parisians turned the game around thanks to their defender. Mickaël Goudets equalised in the 26th minute from a Hakimi pass, before the latter put PSG ahead in the 28th with a powerful strike.

Records for Hakimi

With three goals and two assists, Hakimi becomes the first defender to score a hat-trick in Ligue 1 since Youcef Atal (Nice) against Guingamp on 28 April 2019, again according to FilGoal. He is also the first Moroccan player to score a hat-trick in Ligue 1 since Sofiane Boufal (Lille) against Ajaccio on 16 April 2016.

It is also the first time in his professional career, for club and country, that the Moroccan has been involved in five goals in a single official match. After his second goal in the 55th minute, he set up Senne Mayulu for the fourth in the 62nd, before completing the scoring in the 69th with his third personal goal.

PSG top, Le Havre bottom

With this win, Paris SG have 20 points and sit top of Ligue 1. Le Havre, by contrast, remain bottom with just 2 points.

The match was also marked by a record for Paris coach Luis Enrique. He recorded his 127th win in all competitions with PSG, becoming the most successful coach in the club’s history ahead of Laurent Blanc (126).

PSG’s next Ligue 1 match will take place after this matchday 9.
