AS Maniema Union have been placed in Group C of the 2026-2027 CAF Confederation Cup, alongside CR Belouizdad, Singida Black Stars and Red Arrows. The draw was held on Wednesday 28 October in Cairo, according to ACP.
AS Maniema Union’s continental fate is now known. The Congolese club have been placed in Group C of the CAF Confederation Cup for the 2026-2027 campaign, following the draw made on Wednesday 28 October 2026 in Cairo, Egypt, according to ACP.
In this pool, the DR Congo representatives will meet CR Belouizdad of Algeria, Singida Black Stars of Tanzania and Red Arrows of Zambia. The group thus brings together four clubs from four different countries.
Three opponents from three different countries
The make-up of Group C puts Maniema Union up against three teams from three countries: Algeria with CR Belouizdad, Tanzania with Singida Black Stars and Zambia with Red Arrows.
Group C therefore contains no other Congolese club. For AS Maniema Union, it means facing sides from three separate leagues, with no common reference point in this pool.
The quarter-finals as a benchmark
In their previous participation in this continental competition, AS Maniema Union reached the quarter-finals, according to ACP. That run serves as the benchmark for this new campaign.
The club therefore return to the Confederation Cup with a quarter-final run as their reference point.
The rest of the draw
The other groups have also been formed. Group A brings together Al Ahly FC of Egypt, Raja Club Athletic of Morocco, ASKO de Kara of Togo and CD Primeiro de Agosto of Angola. Group B includes AS FAR of Morocco, Azam FC of Tanzania, Al Ahly Tripoli of Libya and Durban City FC of South Africa. Finally, Group D brings together USM Alger of Algeria, CS Sfaxien of Tunisia, Black Bulls of Mozambique and AS Real de Bamako of Mali.
The group stage will be played over six matchdays. The first is scheduled for 27-29 November 2026.
