Leverkusen: Ibrahim Maza courted by PSG, contract extension talks open!

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly tracking Ibrahim Maza, the Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder, according to Sports Mole. For their part, the German club have opened talks to extend the Algeria international’s contract beyond 2030.

Three goals and three assists in eight matches, all as a starter: at 20, Ibrahim Maza has nailed down a place in Bayer Leverkusen’s starting XI. His name is now circulating beyond the Bundesliga. According to Sports Mole, citing journalist Brahim Hanifi (Sport.fr), Paris Saint-Germain want to sign the Algerian attacking midfielder “at all costs”.

The file remains at the rumour stage, however: no Parisian offer is mentioned in the information reported. PSG are not alone in the race. According to Sport.fr, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Manchester City are also monitoring the situation of the player, who arrived from Hertha Berlin for €12 million in 2025.

An undisputed starter at Leverkusen

At 20, Maza has established himself as an undisputed starter at Leverkusen. His preferred position is the number 10 role, but he has also played on both wings this season, Sport.fr notes.

His value is now estimated at around €50 million, compared with the €12 million paid to Hertha Berlin in 2025. That rise is fuelling interest from several English clubs, according to the same source.

PSG looking for attacking reinforcement

The Parisian interest comes in a specific context: PSG are without Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for the rest of the season and are looking to strengthen their attack, according to Sport.fr.

It remains to be seen whether the club will act. Caution is warranted: the information comes from Sports Mole, citing journalist Brahim Hanifi of Sport.fr, and no fee or timetable is put forward.

Leverkusen want to extend Maza

Bayer Leverkusen have opened talks to extend Maza’s contract beyond 2030, with a pay rise to go with it, according to Sky Germany. The player is said to be open to the extension, Sport.fr reports. It is a way of securing one of their starters.

The German club appear reluctant to sell mid-season. A departure is, however, mentioned for summer 2027, according to Sport.fr, which presents it as likely. Maza, who has not reacted publicly, remains focused on his season at Leverkusen, according to the same source.
