David Pagou has called up 28 players for the double header against Namibia on 12 and 16 November. Blondy Noukeu and Samuel Kotto, starters for Boulogne and Reims in Ligue 2, will then join up with the national team.
The Indomitable Lions head coach, David Pagou, unveiled a list of 28 players on Monday 26 October to face Namibia, including four goalkeepers, reports actucameroun.com. The two matches are scheduled for 12 and 16 November 2026 and count towards the 3rd and 4th matchdays of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
Before linking up with the squad, Blondy Noukeu and Samuel Kotto played in the 1-1 draw between Boulogne and Reims on the 10th matchday of Ligue 2, according to camfoot.com. The Boulogne goalkeeper and the Reims centre-back were both starters; Noukeu played the whole match, Kotto the full 90 minutes.
A Namibia side to be taken seriously
The Cameroon coach makes no secret of what is at stake in this double header. “The Cameroon – Namibia double header is two very important matches. We’re going to play against a good Namibia team that beat Congo,” he told actucameroun.com.
Namibia did indeed beat Congo 1-0, but were also beaten by the Comoros, according to the same source.
Pagou intends to use this camp to observe his squad. “We’ll see the strengths on display and who goes with who, who gets on better with who,” he added to the same outlet.
Noukeu and Kotto head to head
On the Ligue 2 pitches, the two internationals were on opposing sides. Blondy Noukeu kept goal for Boulogne throughout the match, while Samuel Kotto played the full 90 minutes in central defence for Reims.
The match ended 1-1, and Reims managed only two shots on target, reports camfoot.com. The share of the points leaves Reims 4th in the league with 18 points, from 4 wins and 6 draws, without a single defeat.
Boulogne sit 13th with 10 points. Both players will now join up with the national team, as the same outlet reports.
Rendezvous on 9 November
The 28 players are due to gather on 9 November, three days before the first leg against Namibia. Cameroon will host the first match on 12 November, before travelling for the return leg on 16 November, four days later.
Noukeu and Kotto will then join the squad, after their Ligue 2 match.
