Servette: Mutandwa strikes again and delivers the win against Vaduz!

Zambian striker Kingstone Mutandwa gave Servette FC the win against FC Vaduz (2-1) on Saturday evening, scoring in the 85th minute. It is now a sixth consecutive match with a goal in all competitions.

Servette FC were not yet safe against FC Vaduz on Saturday evening. It was Kingstone Mutandwa who made the difference: the Zambian international forward fired a low shot from the edge of the box, beyond the reach of Vaduz goalkeeper Leon Schaffran, and handed the Genevans all three points (2-1), reports Watson.

The 23-year-old had not been content with that late finish. In the 19th minute he had already hit the upright. Decisive once again, he extends a scoring run.

A long uncertain scenario

Servette had nonetheless taken the lead. In the 15th minute, Thomas Lopes, a 19-year-old attacking midfielder, opened the scoring with a long-range strike that ended in the top corner, from 25 metres according to Watson. The club confirmed the final score in their favour, 2-1, on its official website.

FC Vaduz, however, resurfaced in the 77th minute, through a Lutfi Dalipi shot from a Dejan Djokic assist. Servette then needed one last surge to avoid letting points slip away. “Volontaires, solidaires et disciplinés, les Servettiens ont continué à pousser jusqu’au bout. Et c’est finalement Kingstone Mutandwa qui a délivré les siens en fin de rencontre !” the club writes on its official website.

According to the Tribune de Genève, the Genevans coached by head coach Jocelyn Gourvennec recorded an unusually low share of possession, 25%, in the first half.

Five matchdays, six games: the run

The 85th-minute goal extends a momentum that was already well established. Mutandwa found the net in each of his last five league matchdays, according to Watson. Adding his brace from the previous week in the Swiss Cup, the forward has therefore now scored in six consecutive matches in Servette FC colours.

The distinction matters: the league run covers five games, the one in all competitions six. Arriving in the summer of 2026, the Zambian has an estimated market value of 3.5 million euros according to Transfermarkt.

Top 6 and next fixture

This victory allows Servette FC to record a second successive Super League win and to cement their place in the Swiss top 6, again according to Watson.

The next fixture is set for the weekend of 31 October 2026, for the 11th matchday of the Swiss Super League. The next Zambia Chipolopolo gathering, for continental qualifiers, is also coming up.
