CAF has confirmed the kick-off times for the second-leg matches of the Champions League second preliminary round, from 23 to 25 October. Espérance de Tunis, Zamalek and RS Berkane will be playing for their qualification.
The second-leg matches of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round will be played from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October 2026. The Confederation of African Football and the broadcasters have finalised the full schedule, as reported by African Manager. The clubs involved, from Espérance de Tunis to Zamalek via RS Berkane, now know the time of their appointment.
While some clubs have taken a serious option in the first leg, others must overturn a deficit. That is notably the case for Espérance de Tunis, beaten 0-1 on Al-Swehly’s pitch and forced to turn the tie around in front of their own fans. Zamalek and Pyramids FC, who will defend a one-goal lead, complete the picture.
Four matches on Friday
This second-leg weekend kicks off on Friday 23 October with four encounters. Petro Atlético will host Scotland FC, with a two-goal deficit after their 0-2 defeat in the first leg. At the same time, Orlando Pirates, 1-0 winners in the first leg, will welcome African Stars.
The day continues with Mamelodi Sundowns – Wiliete, on a 0-0 from the first leg, and MC Alger – Enugu Rangers, who meet on a 0-2 from the first leg. Sundowns, the reigning champions, host Wiliete.
Espérance under pressure
On Saturday 24 October, Espérance de Tunis will be in action at 17:00. The Tunisians will host Al-Swehly with a one-goal deficit to make up, after their narrow 0-1 defeat in the first leg. The task looks delicate for the club, who will have to turn things around in front of their own fans.
An hour later, at 18:00, Zamalek will host APR of Rwanda. The Egyptians start with a one-goal advantage, earned in the first leg (1-0). At the same time, Pyramids FC, 1-0 winners in the first leg, will welcome Al Merreikh of Bentiu. Both Egyptian clubs will therefore be in a favourable position, but will need to confirm.
The evening ends at 20:00 with RS Berkane, who will take on Star Sport Academy. The Moroccans took a serious option by winning 2-0 in the first leg. A draw would be enough for Berkane’s men to continue their adventure.
Sunday: three ties still open
Among the fixtures on Sunday 25 October, Club Africain will host TP Mazembe after a 1-1 draw in the first leg. ASEC Mimosas will welcome Maghreb de Fès on the same first-leg score (1-1).
Al-Hilal, for their part, will host Sidama Bunna with a two-goal advantage (2-0 in the first leg).
At the end of this round, the sixteen qualifiers will join the group stage, whose draw will determine four groups of four teams.
