RC Strasbourg: six Premier League clubs eyeing Gessime Yassine!

Moroccan winger Gessime Yassine of RC Strasbourg is reportedly attracting interest from six Premier League clubs, according to Top Mercato, while the BlueCo consortium, owner of Chelsea and Strasbourg, is said to be earmarking him for the Blues.

This season in Ligue 1, Gessime Yassine has two goals and two assists in seven matches, all of them started under Strasbourg coach Gary O’Neil. The player is drawing attention across the Channel: according to Top Mercato, citing TeamTalk, six Premier League clubs have positioned themselves to watch and sign the 20-year-old winger, namely Brighton, Newcastle, Sunderland, Brentford, Everton and Nottingham Forest.

This cross-interest also involves the BlueCo consortium, joint owner of Chelsea and the Alsace club. According to the same source, the group was already considering integrating the player directly into the Blues’ squad. The information remains at the rumour stage.

From Dunkirk to Strasbourg

Gessime Yassine joined RC Strasbourg in January 2026 from USL Dunkerque for a fee of around €7 million. His contract runs until June 2030.

The right winger, born in Salon-de-Provence, trained in France and revealed at the U20 World Cup, can play just as comfortably on either attacking flank.

AS Saint-Étienne had also moved for the player last winter, before Strasbourg won the race, Top Mercato recalls. The player’s market value is now estimated at more than €20 million.

The BlueCo bridge and Lollichon’s message

This is not an isolated case at Strasbourg. Valentin Barco (€40m) and Emanuel Emegha (€25m) had previously taken the same Strasbourg-London bridge orchestrated by BlueCo, according to Top Mercato. A precedent that fuels speculation about a possible move to Stamford Bridge.

Christophe Lollichon, former Chelsea goalkeeping coach, said recently on Ouest-France, in comments relayed by Top Mercato, that the player was practically at Chelsea. A remark that is anything but official.

TeamTalk, cited by Top Mercato, says the same: “The BlueCo group intends to include Yassine in the London club’s future. Gessime, for his part, is calm about his future with the Blues.” A calmness that English interest could nevertheless put to the test.

Ligue 1 before the transfer window

In the meantime, Gessime Yassine remains a Strasbourg player, where Gary O’Neil continues to start him. The Alsace club are back in Ligue 1 action on the next matchday.

The winter transfer window will open in January 2027, when the situation could see new developments.
