TP Mazembe: Bode vows to “crush everything” at Kamalondo against Club Africain!

Togolese full-back Abdoul Sabourh Bode says TP Mazembe want to settle the first leg against Club Africain on Saturday 17 October 2026 at Kamalondo, before the return in Tunis in the CAF Champions League.

In Lubumbashi, TP Mazembe are approaching the clash with Club Africain with confidence. Togolese right-back Abdoul Sabourh Bode warned that the Congolese club intend to win clearly at Kamalondo this Saturday 17 October 2026, in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. His comments were gathered by Foot RDC and relayed by MediaCongo.

The 31-year-old defender says the Ravens are ready to make the difference in their fortress and settle the tie before the return in Tunis. The prize is a place in the group stage.

The 8-0 of 2019 is ancient history

Bode was keen to rule out any comparison with the rout suffered by the Tunisian club in Lubumbashi in 2019, an 8-0 defeat. “History remains history. They wrote history in their own way and we have our own way. It is about winning and securing qualification by doing the essential before the return leg, right here, even if it is not 8-0,” he told Foot RDC.

The Togolese also raised the tone on the atmosphere expected in the Congolese arena. “We have quality and potential. Here, they have no chance of doing anything. At Kamalondo, we are there to crush everything. They will not come to be humiliated, but that motivates us too,” he continued, again according to Foot RDC.

A recent arrival, a strengthened squad

Having arrived in mid-August 2026 from Stade Malien de Bamako on a free transfer, Bode signed a two-season deal with the Congolese club, according to Togo Foot. He is part of a strengthened squad, notably with Ismaila Cissé, as TP Mazembe are determined to qualify for the continental group stage.

The Lubumbashi club prepared for the tie by eliminating Ghana’s Medeama SC in the previous round, with a 4-1 aggregate score: 1-0 in the first leg, then 3-1 in the return at Kamalondo, according to Foot RDC. The team is led from the bench by head coach Slimane Raho of Algeria.

Internationally, the full-back has 16 caps for Togo and played the Sparrowhawks’ last official match against Zambia, a 2-0 defeat, according to Sofascore.

The return in Tunis in their sights

Kick-off for the first leg is scheduled for this Saturday 17 October 2026 at the TP Mazembe Stadium in Kamalondo, according to Sofascore. The return leg, decisive for a place in the group stage, is planned for Tunis the following week.
