Senegal: FSF postpones its meeting on the 2026 World Cup fiasco to 21 November!

The Executive Committee of the Senegalese Football Federation was due to review the Lions’ performances at CAN 2025 and the 2026 World Cup. It will now not meet until 21 November 2026, according to SeneNews.

The meeting of the Executive Committee of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) was initially called for this Thursday, 15 October 2026 in Louga, reports SeneNews, citing Les Échos. The body has finally decided to postpone the session to 21 November 2026, according to the same source.

The reason is administrative: according to Les Échos, the delay is explained by “the need to finalise certain missing documents and the absence of essential items intended to complete the activity reports”. The postponement therefore pushes the initial date back by more than a month.

A very busy agenda

The first item on the agenda concerns the Lions’ performance at CAN 2025 in Morocco, which will be scrutinised from financial, technical and administrative angles, according to SeneNews. The management of player bonuses and the logistics linked to the competition will be examined in depth.

The Lions’ participation in the 2026 World Cup in North America will also be dissected after their elimination in the round of 32. This early exit raises serious questions about the summer preparation, tactical choices and the delegation’s logistical organisation, again according to SeneNews.

The key for distributing the revenue allocated by FIFA for the 2026 World Cup is among the contentious points to be audited. The Executive Committee must also rule on bringing sports infrastructure into compliance and compliance with specifications in Senegal.

Subsidies, referees and women’s football

The amount of subsidies allocated to Ligue 1, Ligue 2 and amateur football clubs will be reassessed. The recurring late payment of Senegalese referees’ fees is also on the table for discussion, according to SeneNews.

The development of women’s football and the structuring of youth academies complete the agenda for this meeting.

Heading for 21 November

Initially scheduled in Louga, the session will now be held on 21 November 2026. By then, the missing administrative documents must be finalised and the essential items gathered to complete the activity reports, according to Les Échos via SeneNews.

This postponement comes as the Lions were eliminated in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup.
