The Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan hosted the second leg of the second round of qualifying for the 2028 Olympics on Tuesday, 13 October 2026. Ivory Coast beat DR Congo 3-0 there. That win adds to the 4-1 secured in Lubumbashi in the first leg: 7-1 on aggregate across the two matches, according to the Kivu Morning Post.
Reynald Pedros was in charge of the Ivorians. Opposite him, DR Congo coach Pamphile Mihayo sees his team eliminated.
A meeting with Cameroon
Cameroon, exempt from the second round, await Ivory Coast in the third round. According to the Kivu Morning Post and Africafoot, that exemption followed Guinea’s withdrawal. The Cameroonians, African champions, were therefore spared the previous phase.
The Ivory Coast – Cameroon clash is scheduled between 23 February and 6 March 2027, still as part of Olympic qualifying.
