Two goals, two assists. Abdallah Sima had been one of RC Lens’s rare attacking bright spots since the start of the season. Except the international break has cost him dearly. The 25-year-old Senegalese forward injured his thigh with the Lions of Teranga, then underwent tests on his return to Artois.
RC Lens confirmed the bad news in a statement on Tuesday: unavailable until the end of November. The club did not detail the exact diagnosis. According to Media365, the former Brighton man is expected to miss at least eight matches. Put simply, the Blood and Gold will go through the autumn without one of their few attacking weapons.
Why it hurts so much
Lens sit 15th in Ligue 1 and need points fast. Signed on 29 August 2025 from Brighton for 4.5 million euros and under contract until 30 June 2029, Sima is targeting a return for the games against Leipzig on 24 November and Angers on the 29th. Until then, the first match without him comes on Friday at Bollaert against OL. Hardly the time to lose a forward.
