Doucet back in Paris: Burkina Faso midfielder leaves Dunkerque, returns to Paris FC

It’s official. USL Dunkerque confirmed on Sunday 7 June the departure of Lohann Doucet, 23-year-old Burkina Faso international midfielder, who had been on loan from Paris FC since January 2026. The Nantes-born player returns to the French capital after a solid second half of the season in the north of France, with 12 Ligue 2 appearances to his name.

Developed at FC Nantes, Lohann Doucet joined Paris FC in the summer of 2023 — initially on loan, then permanently for around €300,000 — signing a contract through June 2027. Limited to just five Ligue 1 appearances in the first half of the season, and sidelined by injury between September and October, the defensive midfielder was sent to Dunkerque in January to regain rhythm in Ligue 2. The stint proved worthwhile: the northern club bid him a warm farewell, praising him as a « reliable and dynamic midfielder » who brought « seriousness, technical quality and commitment » to their engine room.

For Burkina Faso and its football community, this return carries weight. Doucet is one of the few active Étalons representatives competing in France’s top two divisions, making his continued presence at Paris FC — now an established Ligue 1 club — a valuable platform ahead of upcoming African international windows. Whether he earns a starting role under the Parisian coaching staff remains to be seen. But the opportunity is there — and so is the contract, valid until 2027.
