South Sudan shine: Djibouti on the brink in AFCON 2027 qualifiers

South Sudan secured a dominant 4-0 win over Djibouti in Juba in the preliminary round first leg of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. With an impressive team performance and a standout display from Keer Majak, the Bright Stars are now firmly on track for qualification.

South Sudan set the tone early, controlling the game with intensity and attacking intent. The breakthrough came in the 31st minute when Teng Kuol converted a well-delivered assist from Justin Bangasi. Despite leading only 1-0 at halftime, the hosts looked in full control.

After the break, Keer Majak took over, scoring once and delivering two assists to seal a comprehensive victory. Djibouti struggled to cope throughout and now face a daunting task to keep their qualification hopes alive.
