Bournemouth closes the door on Antoine Semenyo’s departure this winter despite major interests

  • EN, Ghana

Antoine Semenyo, Bournemouth’s star striker, recently renewed his contract for an additional five years, tying him to the club until 2030. This fiAntoine Semenyorm decision comes despite strong interest from several major English clubs such as Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham, who failed to secure agreements with the club or the player during the last summer transfer window. Bournemouth thus confirms its intention to keep the Ghanaian international, seen as a key player under Andoni Iraola’s management.

This season, Semenyo continues to impress with a very promising start in the Premier League, already recording three goals and two assists in five matches, performances that earned him the player and scorer of the month awards in August at the club. Valued around 40 million euros due to these statistics and his progression, Bournemouth demands a much higher fee, around 70 to 80 million euros, for any potential offer. Additionally, the absence of a release clause in his contract strengthens the club’s firm stance, which rejects any idea of a sale during the winter 2025 transfer window.

Semenyo’s salary has also been significantly raised to around £75,000 per week, or £3.9 million annually, making him the highest-paid player at the club. This salary increase reflects his growing importance to Bournemouth, which is counting on him to pursue its ambitions in the Premier League.

With a career set for the long term at Bournemouth, Antoine Semenyo remains at the heart of the English team’s plans. After resisting summer offers and successfully extending its key player, the club plans to keep this talented striker at least until the end of the season, if not longer, despite external pressure. The current context makes Bournemouth a determined actor in retaining its talents to solidify its Premier League position and aim for strong performances in upcoming sporting events.
