Amine Harit’s emotional farewell to OM

  • EN, Morocco

After four emotional years, Moroccan international Amine Harit has officially bid farewell to Olympique de Marseille. The 28-year-old leaves the French club having appeared in 107 games, scoring 10 goals and providing 20 assists during his time in Marseille.

Seeking more playing time, Harit accepted a loan deal with an option to buy at Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir for the 2025-2026 season. This move marks a new chapter in his career following a difficult period where he was no longer part of coach Roberto De Zerbi’s plans.

On social media, Harit posted a heartfelt farewell message expressing gratitude to OM, his teammates, staff, and fans: “Today ends my journey with OM after four intense seasons filled with highs, lows, but above all, passion and emotions. I have always given my all for this jersey and will cherish every memory.”

For OM, this departure helps reduce the wage bill and clarifies the team’s rebuilding process. For Harit, Turkey offers a fresh challenge and an opportunity to regain competitive form as he prepares for his international duties with Morocco.
